A Columbia REA member received a phone call this morning stating that their electric bill was past due and their power was going to be shut off.
This was a scam call.
Columbia REA and Columbia iConnect do not use automated or external calling services for the purposes of collecting payment or issuing refunds.
If you ever receive a call from someone saying that you owe Columbia REA money,
please end the call and then call us back directly to verify the information.
Do not share personal financial information of any kind over the phone or via email for any reason
unless you are absolutely certain you know who the caller is.
